Linear Differential Equation

A first order differential equation is said to be linear in y if the power of the terms dy/dx and y are unity.

For example, dy/dx + xy = ex is linear in y.

A differential equation of order one satisfying the above condition can always be put in the form dy/dx + Py = Q, where P and Q are function of x only.

The solution of the equation which is linear in y is given as:
